A Message to All the Liberals Out There
It seems you are really enjoying the new executive powers given to Obama. A President who can force Catholics to engage in systemic of which they honestly believe is sinful is wonderful and rewarding… you think. You love the fact that the Administration can effectively end the construction of coal powered plants. You are perfectly happy with the President bring oil exploration, drilling and production on public lands, the Gulf and theAtlanticto a complete standstill. You are perfectly okay with every American being forced by the federal government to enter into contracts with a private entities. The power to force people to do what you want them to do is invigorating, huh?
Here is something for you to think about. Obama won’t always be in power. Eventually the President will be another George W. Bush, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich or someone quite conservative in nature. It is inevitable. When that person takes over the White House, all of the virtually limitless powers of the executive branch that you helped create will still be there. That new President will possess all of executive power you have so eagerly given Obama. The mighty power of decree and the ability to force you to bend to the will of the state will still be there. You gave it to the office, not that man.
You may find that you don’t like the results but you will have no one to whom to complain. No one feels sympathy for the mad scientists when his monster turns on him.
You call yourselves civil libertarians? You aren’t civil libertarians and you will eventually reap what you have sown. As a Libertarian and for the stability of this great country, the very idea of what you have created strikes fear in my soul.
