About the Catholic Church
I was working with a person today who is Catholic. She is a dear friend and is not shy about voicing her opinion. She was all aghast with her brother who is also a Catholic and also a liberal. I didn’t understand, I mean in today’s modern America, there are liberals everywhere. Well over fifty percent of the American populace is liberal. I figured that “this is just the way it is… get used to it.” She said, “how can you be complacent? You can’t be a liberal and Catholic at the same time.” She must have seen the state of wonder on my face because she went on. “If you support the liberal cause, you are, in a sense, supporting gay pride, same sex marriage, sodomy, abortion (even late term), and the total removal of religion from schools and public meetings… how can you be anti-religion and religious at the same time?”
“OK, I’m starting to see your point. I guess it’s a conundrum if you’re Catholic and also support the liberal agenda. So, I guess you’re not really a Catholic then…that is, if you believe in the stuff that goes against the basic tenets of the church.” I was eventually in agreement, although, this didn’t seem to help her rage. She stormed off, even madder than before.
I decided to look it up. I’m no Catholic, but I was curious. I discovered a lot. The liberals go on and on about the Catholic Church and how “the Crusades killed more innocent souls than all of the so called, terrorist attacks…blah, blah” this is the common liberal rant.
Well, despite what the liberals might say, I was surprised to find that the Church actually does some good and, for some reason, it is not very well advertised. (Thank you Wikipedia).
When the Catholic Church was founded, there were no hospitals. Today, one out of five people in this country receive their medical care at a Catholic hospital.
When the Catholic Church was founded, there were no schools. Today, the Catholic Church teaches 3 million students a day, in its more than 250 CatholicColleges and Universities, in its more than 1200 CatholicHigh Schools and its more than 5000 Catholic grade schools.
Every day, the Catholic Church feeds, clothes, shelters and educates more people than any other organization on this planet.
The new Obama Health Mandate could end all this and the tax payers would have to make up the loss.
Also, all Catholic adoption services would come to an end.
There are more than 77 million Catholics in this country. It takes an estimated 50 million Catholic votes to elect a president. I am asking all of you to go to the polls in the next election and be united in replacing all Senators and Reps with someone who will respect the Religions freedoms of all. (not just Islam)
President Obama said, “The USA is not a Christian Nation”. He is wrong. This is a Christian Nation founded on Judeo-Christian values allowing all religions in America to Worship & Practice Freely.
This is something Islam will never do, and will never allow.
Oh, by the way, on MUSLIM HERITAGE IN America…
Have you ever been to a Muslim hospital?
Have you heard a Muslim orchestra?
Have you seen a Muslim band march in a parade?
Have you witnessed a Muslim charity?
Have you ever seen Muslims shaking hands with a Muslim Girl Scouts?
Have you seen a Muslim Candy Striper?*
Have you ever seen a Muslim do anything that contributes positively to the American way of life?
It seems that our President only recognizes “religious freedom” with it comes to the Muslim faith. Christians are condemned.
We are not a nation run by liberals and we are not a nation governed by Sharia Law. This is America, the “land of the free.”
Whoops, I may have gotten off track a little… but that’s what happens when I talk to Val.
