Time To Start Shooting

If these wild packs of “people” won’t adhere to laws, it’s time to start shooting. If “Black Lives Matter” like they say they wouldn’t be taunting the cops, somebody’s gonna get shot and it shouldn’t be the police.

Remember the great white riots of 19–? Yeah me neither.

Baltimore is a good example of what happened when Progressives are allowed to rule unchecked. West Baltimore is a scary black ghetto and the main hub for narcotics trafficking in the region.  Keep Reading….

Talk like a politician day

H/T jeffli6

I’ve decided that from now on, I’m going to answer every question like a presidential candidate.  I mean really, you should try it.  It’s kinda fun…

John, what are you gonna do this weekend?

“That is a great question and an important one.    And I will do something this weekend. But let me take a step back and answer a broader question.  What are we all doing this weekend?  As a nation?  As a world?  This weekend I will do something comprehensive and robust,  yet very fun.  We all should.”

“But, what are you going to do?”

“What I’m going to do involves three things.  First,  it’s going to be relaxing;  Second,  it’s going to be enjoyable;   Lastly, I’m going to make sure that it is cost effective so I don’t get into a deficit.  Four weeks ago, I said I was going to do something … and I did just that.  This weekend will be no different!”

Racism is only a matter of perspective

I was at Ruby Tuesday’s with my wife having lunch today. There was a well dressed middle class family having lunch in the booth next to us. It was a black man and a white woman with two little kids. They had a boy and a girl at about two and three years old. The two kids were, like any two and three year olds, very busy and impossible to sit still. Also, they were obvious offspring of these two people. I saw a wonderful mix of both parents. I elbowed my wife as the youngest stood up in the booth to look at the customers in the booth behind them. As the man saw me looking at the kids, I turned back to my meal, just in time to hear him mumble to his wife, “damn racist whitey.”

I have three sons in their twenties. The oldest has been married for a few years. The other two don’t even have a girlfriend. When working in surgery and we need a particular instrument, we call a core tech. The last core tech quit, and until we hire a new one, we cycle techs from other departments. The other day a cute young girl came through. She was smart, energetic, and had a strong work ethic. At lunch, I found her, and after a pleasant conversation I eventually asked, “hey, are you married?” After a strange look, I amended my question. “I mean, I have two sons and you could be a really nice daughter in-law.” She brightened up and said, “why are you… and your family Russian?”   This time it was my turn to be confused. She said, “my family is Russian and they won’t allow me to marry outside of my ethnicity. I can only marry another Russian…. sorry.”

I’ve read stories about Muslim people not allowing any of their kind from having any relationship or marrying outside of their ethnic group. They want to maintain their “ethnic purity.”  I have also heard this same sentiment from Jewish people, East Indian people, Japanese, Chinese, Persian, and now Russian. I have two Muslim neurosurgeons at my hospital who boast about this little fact. When greeting either, they will only offer their left hand in handshake. It is considered unclean to give your right hand to “an infidel.”  These people can discriminate against, and not have a “relation with” anyone outside their group and no one bats an eye.

My parents were children when the Japanese bombed Pearl harbor.   My mom’s side of the family is mostly German. My dad’s side is mostly English. These two groups were once at war with each other. But they still somehow find an ability for forgiveness and love. If one of my sons brought home an Asian, Indian, or even a black girl, I’d be ok… their happiness would be all that mattered. Heck, I wouldn’t be nearly as happy, but they could even bring home another guy. Like I said, their happiness is what really matters…not my petty personal issues. Their spouse, whoever, or whatever would be accepted into our family.

Now I admit I was born and raised in southern Alabama. In my early years, I have known some racist people who have said unsavory comments when seeing a white girl with a black man. I am not one of them. As a nurse, I take care of all sorts of people and I do my very best to give them good care no matter if they are black, white, gay or straight. I figure that’s their own issue, not mine. So, when I see a black man and a white woman together, all I can think, is how amazing and beautiful their children are… yet, for no other reason than because my skin is white, I am called the racist.

Tax Day!

Today is the day that we all donate to our favorite charity… the US government.

I love to give to charity.  I’m putting up the charity tree so my family can sit around the tree and open presents and sing songs about taxes and giving till it hurts.

I think that I should stop giving to churches, Good Will,  Red Cross, United Way  and the such.  I mean really,  who knows better what to do with my hard earned cash than the federal government?

Maybe they can give a new infusion of my cash to  Robert Mapplethorpe .  Who knows?  Whatever, I trust the government to properly spend my money… don’t you?

50 Examples of Government Waste

Animal Rights and Liberal Corruption

When I was a teenager, my family took a vacation to Mexico.  We became hopelessly lost in a troubled part of Mexico City and we couldn’t even read the road signs. We drove until we found a police officer.  I remember my dad paying cash to the officer so he would leave his patrol and help guide us safely back to our hotel.  I had always had the utmost respect for officers of the law.  But I’ve never seen an officer take cash for anything.  My dad explained it simply as, “this is just how it things work in a third world country.”

I live in Beaverton, Oregon and my bank is located near a pond where Canadian geese and mallard ducks like to hang out.  I went to do some business at the bank.  Upon arrival, there were several geese laying in the warm sun on the sidewalk. As I was walking along in my own little world, thinking about the things I needed to do today,   a lady with a loud obnoxious voice shocked me back into reality. “Hey, watch out for the geese!  You know they are protected.  You can’t go within 20 feet of them… walk around!”  So I gave a wide birth and walked on the grass.

Just the other day, I read a story about a “duck murdered” in Portland by a Hit-and-run bike rider .  Apparently a duck was crossing the road and was hit by a bicycle and killed.  Everyone is all in an uproar.  The whole Bike Community Rallies to Catch Alleged Bethany Lake Duck Killer.  The man-hunt was on!  To the horror of my liberal friends, I found this a little humorous.  But I’m “an insensitive conservative.” I mean really, it seems to me that we have more than plenty of ducks and geese to go around.  I don’t shoot or eat foul, but I could start anytime.

Still related on the same story, yesterday I was working with a doctor who was telling me about a new golf club that he was thinking about joining.  He said that he was taking a tour and as they walked over past the third hole, two bird dogs came running full blast.  As they came up to the green, they split and took off in different directions.  He looked at the gentleman giving the tour, and the guide smiled and said, “I know you’re wondering what that was about… well I’ll tell you.  It seems that Canadian geese just love our greens and our water traps.  They loiter here all day… if we let them.  Because they are sensitive wildlife, we humans can’t harass them.  On the other hand, their poop stinks and they ruin the aesthetics of the club.  So we have several well trained dogs to keep the geese away.  It’s perfectly OK for animals to shoo off other animals.”   The doctor responded, “do the dogs ever kill any of the geese?”  The tour guide reluctantly said, “well, sometimes the dogs do get a little enthusiastic about their job.  But it’s all really for the good of the club.  We simply can’t have those dirty geese littering up the place.”

I know that these stories all sound a little disjointed, but in total, I’m trying to explain how, through a breakdown of the Justice system,  America is slowly being fundamentally transformed into a third world government.  When I was younger, the law was the law.  I actually took Constitutional law in college and if you broke the law, no matter what the reason, you were a “law breaker” and considered guilty.   Things have changed.

Recent polls show that a vast majority of the population distrusts the government.  With the police shooting in Ferguson, Hillary’s hidden records (and then lying about it), President Obama’s lying about  Fast and Furious to name a few.  I get fined when my taxes are just a few hundred bucks off what is expected and I am required to pay quarterly, while the Reverend Al Sharpton still owes $4.5 million bucks (from last year). Richard Nixon tells one lie and gets impeached while Obama lies, and several thousand people are killed in the process.  Today it’s acceptable to lie, cheat and steal.  We are sliding bad and as a result, practically no one trusts the government today.  Everyone expects the police to be crooked along with the politicians. In my heart, I know that the majority of police officers are just like nurses… they are good honest people who just want to get to the end of their shift with the least amount of drama.    However, I fear that it won’t be long (one generation at the outside) before the police will be crooked and taking cash for services… just like Mexico.  The latest poll states that most collage age people Think Politicians Lie and are dishonest.  It’s only a matter of time before the up and coming go into a particular field of study, not because it’s an honorable profession but because they feel they have a better opportunity to get away with criminal activities… like in Mexico.

This country will continue to move toward third world status as long as we continue to foster an atmosphere for corruption.  When OJ Simpson was acquitted of killing those people, I said, “the system is broken and we get just as much justice as we can afford.”  Now it is not only true as ever, but it has gone a lot farther.  Now, unethical people will buy off their city council, their mayor, the governor, and even Congress to get their way, much the same way the golf course has paid for a special loophole for ridding their club of Canadian geese.   Although I am not fond of water foul, this is wrong and furthers advances the environment of corruption in this country.

Unfortunately,  it is not a problem that can be solved by simply throwing out the bad politicians.  It goes much deeper.  We have a serious breakdown of morality in this country.  Simply “doing the right thing” is becoming a very difficult decision in today’s society.  Simply getting your way when it comes to breaking the law, is still breaking the law.

I don’t know the answer but I see trends that are frightening and I fear for my children.

Hllary makes a run for the White House!

Hillary Clinton goes to a gifted-student primary school in New York to talk about the world. After her talk, she entreats them to a “question & answer time”. One boy puts up his hand. Hillary asks him what his name is. “Kenneth”. “

And what is your question, Kenneth?”

“I have three questions: First – whatever happened in Benghazi?

Second – why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office?

And, third – whatever happened to the missing 6 billion dollars while you were Secretary of State?” Just then the bell rings for recess. Hillary Clinton informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess. When they resume, Hillary says, “Okay where were we? Oh, that’s right, question & answer time. Who has a question?”

A different boy – this time Johnny – puts his hand up; Hillary points to him and asks him what his name is. “Johnny.”

“And what is your question, little Johnny?”

“I have five questions: First – whatever happened in Benghazi?

Second – why would you run for President after your husband shamed the office?

Third – whatever happened to the missing 6 billion dollars while you were Secretary of State?

Fourth – why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early?

And, fifth – where’s Kenneth?”

Judge Orders California To Waste 4 Billion Gallons Of Water To Save Six Fish

Idiocy like this coming from the left, along with political leaders that are dominated by special interest groups have caused the drought to be more severe than it really needs to be.  I once had a little bit of sympathy for the poor people in California.   Not any more.  The people that elect these idiots for political leaders deserve that they get.

H/T to Jim22

This is the kind of stupid moves that have caused this drought to be so bad. A few fish are more important than the California farmers and those who consume fruit and vegetables from there.

According to the Manteca Bulletin, a local paper that has been covering the standoff, this flushed out 15,000 acre feet of water and 23 steelhead trout. But this latest order, which would reportedly use another 12,000 acre feet to save only six fish, was too much for Shields.”

The environmental argument is that steelhead trout are important to mountain ecosystems, which have downstream benefits. And the flows themselves keep the briny water from the San Francisco Bay from creeping into the Sacramento Delta. “

“Lets have a Compromise”

It’s coming around to Presidential campaign season again.  The candidates are starting to show.   I’m sick of the RINO establishment republicans trying to appear friendly and supportive to gun owners.  I saw a blurb on Chris Christie this morning that made me angry.  He talks about supporting gun owners, yet he presides over the third most restrictive state in the nation.  His story reads exactly like the republican party:  He is no friend of freedom, and no friend of the Second Amendment…

Let’s say I have this cake. It’s a very nice cake, with “Gun Rights” written across the top in lovely floral icing. Along you come and say, “Give me that cake.”

I say, “No, it’s my cake.”

You say, “Let’s compromise. Give me half.” I respond by asking what do I get out of this compromise, and you reply that I get to keep half of my cake.

Ok, we compromise. Let us call this compromise National Firearms Act  of 1934.

There I am with half of the cake, and you walk back up and say, “Give me that cake.?

I say, “No, it’s my cake.”

You say, “Let’s compromise.” What do I get out of this compromise? Why I get to keep half of what’s left of the cake I already own.

So, we have your compromise — let’s call this one the “Gun Control Act of 1968  — and I’m left holding what is now just a quarter of my cake.

And I’m sitting in the corner with my quarter piece of cake, and here you come again. You want my cake. Again.

This time, you take several bits — we’ll call this compromise the Gun control policy of the Clinton Administration or the Clinton Executive Orders — and I’m left with about a tenth of what has always been my damned cake,  and you’ve got nine-tenths of it.

Then  we compromised with the  Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban  or Lautenberg Act (nibble, nibble), the HUD/Smith & Wesson Settlement Agreement  (nibble, nibble), the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act  (nibble),  and then the School Safety and Law Enforcement Improvement Act  (Mmmmm)

I’m left holding crumbs of what was once a large and satisfying cake, and you’re standing the with most of MY CAKE, making anime eyes and whining about being “reasonable” and wondering why we won’t just compromise.”

I’m done with being reasonable, and I’m done with compromise. Nothing about gun control in this country has ever been “reasonable” nor a genuine “compromise.”

When any politician, on either side of the isle, says “gun control”  it’s never about the guns…

unfortunately,  it’s all about the control.

Troubles in the East

Today I worked in an ENT room again.  We were removing a large benign  middle ear tumor which caused hearing loss.  We had the patient positioned and I was doing the surgical prep on the ear and side of face.  Dr. Wang came in and said to the resident, “this will be a simple case, we will dissect out the surrounding tissue very carefully.  The tumor will be soft and friable so care is essential.  It will be like digging up a bag of rice buried in an old sack cloth.  We work around the edges first.”   Hearing this, I had to ask, “Hey wait, how is this tumor even like a big of rice?  And why would you want to bury it anyway?  And if you did, why would anyone use an old rotten sackcloth when other stuff is easily available?”  He looked annoyed and proceeded to tell me a story of the Cambodian government.

“During the Khmer Rouge movement in Cambodia the government  troops or the Viet Cong would raid our villages and take our food, supplies and even conscript the young boys.  We would hide everything.  Rice would be buried.  When they came, we wouldn’t have much time.  We would bury our food in practically anything we could find… That’s why.”

“oh… wow”  I was speechless.

I guess we sometimes overlook the troubles some people have on getting here to this country.  We overlook just how fortunate we may be and what we have in comparison to what others have.  We take the great things that we have here in this country for granted.  Simple things like clean water that comes freely from the tap.  Think about getting drinking water in Mexico for example.  There is no other country on the planet that will give you (even if you are a foreigner) free health care for whatever ails you, free food, some money to spend and police protection (by honest officers).   I thank God for all that we have and I hope that I will never simply take it for granted like many people already do.

People from all over the world come here and fight to get into this country to taste the freedom that we have. New York is now allowing non-citizens the right to vote.  This along with the group “amnesty” plan that our President has schemed up only cheapens the prize of becoming a citizen of this great country.
